From Risk Perception to Action. The Behavioral Forces Shaping Disaster Preparedness in Bucharest, Romania

This dataset contains 911 observations derived from self-reported measures of seismic risk perception, attitudes toward disaster preparedness, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, earthquake preparedness intention, and behavioral change in the context of a major earthquake scenario in Bucharest, Romania.
The study is grounded in the extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), assuming that seismic risk perception influences subjective norms, which subsequently predict preparedness intentions and protective behaviors. Data were collected between May 2024 and May 2025. The main hypothesis proposes that subjective norms, reinforced by seismic risk perception, play the primary mediating role in shaping intentions to engage in disaster preparedness behavior.
