资源简介:

This article presents a psychological-literary analysis of alienation and isolation in childhood memories within English modernist and Uzbek post-Soviet prose. Drawing upon psychoanalytic theory, existentialist philosophy, and trauma studies, the investigation examines how writers from these two literary traditions represented the child’s experience of estrangement from family, community, and self. The study analyzes works by Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, D.H. Lawrence, and Katherine Mansfield alongside Uzbek post-Soviet texts by O‘tkir Hoshimov, Tog‘ay Murod, Isajon Sulton, and other contemporary writers. The analysis reveals that both traditions employ sophisticated narrative techniques—stream of consciousness, fragmented temporality, and unreliable narration—to convey the phenomenology of childhood alienation. The findings demonstrate significant parallels in representing the origins of alienation in family dysfunction, social marginalization, and the awakening of critical consciousness, while identifying culturally specific variations shaped by different historical circumstances.
