Digital Archive from Archaeological Monitoring and Recording Works at Foxhill Road, Foxhill, Bath, Bath and North East Somerset, June-July 2024

This collection comprises site images and records, a report, and spreadsheet data from archaeological monitoring and recording at land off Foxhill Road, Foxhill, Bath, Bath and North East Somerset. The works were undertaken by AC Archaeology in June and July 2024. The groundworks exposed evidence for previously unknown Romano-British occupation on the site, dated from the 2nd to mid-3rd centuries AD. The remains comprised a probable boundary ditch, which was later overlain by the remains of an open fronted square stone building and metalled surface. Roman finds recovered comprised pottery, a worked stone weight, an iron hobnail, ceramic tile and animal bone. A small amount of medieval and post-medieval pottery was also recovered from later deposits.
