Evolution of the number of unemployed jobseekers in
the Brussels-Capital RegionAnnual averages since 2010, by Brussels municipality, by gender, by
level of education.‘All basic unemployment statistics are based on the number of unemployed
jobseekers (‘DEI’/‘NWWZ’). These are people without paid work who are
registered as jobseekers with a public employment service. The definition is in
line with the provisions of Eurostat (the EU's statistical office).In this context, the file of the job seeker registered with Actiris is
used as the basis in the Brussels-Capital Region. Administrative unemployment
is represented by the situation of all the files at the end of the month, so
each time it is a snapshot (and not dynamic data on entries and exits from
unemployment).Unemployed jobseekers are divided into three categories, which are
displayed by default in the basic statistics, under the key figures’.
