This article analyzes the role and importance of socio-emotional competence in ensuring the professional maturity of a foreign language teacher from a scientific, theoretical and empirical perspective. It is argued that socio-emotional competence includes the teacher's ability to manage his or her emotions, establish effective communication with students, adapt to social situations, and maintain stability in pedagogical activities. The study examines the structural components of socio-emotional competence in their inextricable connection with the professional effectiveness and pedagogical skills of a foreign language teacher. The results of the study indicate the need to develop socio-emotional competence in improving the professional training of teachers in the process of teaching foreign languages.
