General description of this project : The objectives of sequencing the Aspergillus flavus strain AF70 is to study the developmental biology, genetics and genetic regulation of the fungus in forming sclerotial body and its relationship with aflatoxin production and virulence. Better understanding the mechanism of aflatoxin formation, fungal virulence, and developmental biology can help in devising strategy to control or reduce aflatoxin contamination in food and feed commodities.
