资源简介:

Play and formal learning are frequently presented as competing uses of children’s time, although developmental research suggests that their relationship depends on age, task structure, social interaction, and opportunities for agency. This conceptual article examines how the relative functions of play and learning activities change from infancy through early adolescence and identifies conditions under which the two can be productively aligned. The methodology is an integrative, non-systematic analysis of foundational developmental theories, peer-reviewed studies of guided play and executive functions, and international early-childhood guidance. A stage-sensitive Play–Learning Alignment Framework is proposed with four interacting dimensions: developmental readiness, child agency, intentional pedagogical guidance, and ecological support. The analysis distinguishes free play, guided play, playful instruction, and conventional study, and outlines age-responsive practices without proposing a universal percentage of time to allocate to each. Three practical matrices translate theoretical insights into classroom design, observation indicators, and family–school collaboration. The framework predicts that developmental benefits are most plausible when the complexity of play is matched to learning goals, emotional safety is preserved, and adult support gradually shifts from direct co-regulation to learner self-regulation. As the article contains no original participant data, these are theoretical propositions rather than demonstrated intervention effects. The contribution lies in an explicit, adaptable account of play–learning balance across childhood and a transparent agenda for subsequent empirical validation.
