Comparison between sterilized and non-sterilized SSF on microbial communities

The production of epipyrone A pigments through cultivation of an Epicoccum nigrum strain was studied at different temperatures (7, 12, 17.5 and 23 degrees) on previously sterilized and non-sterilized exhausted sugar beet pulp. The objective was to determine at which temperature the strain could overcome competiting endogeneous microflora.
