The sand flies of Sergentomyia genus preferentially blood feed on various species of reptiles. But it was repatedly described, that they are feeding also on mamals. In this project, we sequenced salivary gland transcriptome of sand fly females from two laboratory lineages of Sergentomyia schwetzi – one fed on mice and other on geckos. The data from de novo assembled transcriptome provide new view in to sand fly saliva composition and comparison of two lineages may reflect an adaptation to two types of hosts with different sort of skin and haemostasis.
