To investigate the relationship between esophagus microbiome and the phenotype of inflammatory stromal infiltrate, we studied 10 pairs of DNA samples from ESCC (esophagus squamous cell carcinoma) and adjacent tissue. The esophagus microbiomes were analyzed by 16S rRNA amplicon-based sequencing. Phenotype of the tumor stroma for every sample was characterized using immunohistochemistry.
