We successfully developed a novel method to produce L-glutamate from aerial nitrogen by using genetically modified Klebsiella oxytoca NG13, a nitrogen-fixing bacterium isolated from rice rhizosphere. Based on its genome information, we will further modify its original metabolism to improve L-glutamate productivity.
