Pholidichthys leucotaenia (Convict blenny) genome, fPhoLeu1

The convict blenny (Pholidichthys leucotaenia) lives in the west-central Pacific, and is a small eel shaped fish. Their colors change throughout life. They resemble blennys and gobies, but this may be convergent as genetic analyses indicates that they are not closely related. This sample was collected by Byrappa Venkatesh, the genome sequenced by Gene Myers group, in collaboration with Erich Jarvis, Olivier Fedrigo, and Richard Durbin, and used to generate a high-quality reference genome as part of the G10K-VGP and Fish VGP projects.
