Replication Package for "Unintended Inequality: A Pitfall of Electoral Systems Driven by Information Acquisition Costs"

This record contains the replication package for the article “Unintended Inequality: A Pitfall of Electoral Systems Driven by Information Acquisition Costs.” The package includes processed candidate-level datasets, Stata and Python code, precomputed bootstrap outputs for computationally intensive simulations, and a README file documenting the replication workflow. The data cover 4,905 candidates who ran in 91 ward assembly elections held in Tokyo’s 23 special wards between 2005 and 2023.
