Replication data for "Beef Cattle, capital, and territory: the Amazon in the dynamics of export-oriented accumulation"

Compiled datasets underlying the five figures of the article "Beef Cattle, capital, and territory: the Amazon in the dynamics of export-oriented accumulation", published in the Brazilian Journal of Political Economy, vol. 46, no. 4, 2026. The deposit covers the global beef market between 1990 and 2024 (USDA PSD Online); the cattle herd and pasture area of the states of the Brazilian Legal Amazon between 1985 and 2023 (IBGE, Pesquisa da Pecuária Municipal and Censo Agropecuário); beef production and exports by Amazonian state between 1997 and 2024 (IBGE and MDIC ComexStat); and export-certified meatpacking plants in the Legal Amazon in 2010 and 2024 (MAPA, Serviço de Inspeção Federal). Each file opens with an "About this file" sheet describing the source, unit, definition and coverage of every variable. The deposit also includes the R script that produces the two maps and the two SIGSIF query outputs that document the meatpacking plant data, which cannot be retrieved from the source system today. All sources are public official databases; no confidential or personal data is included.
