Transcriptome analyses of neutrophils isolated from mice receiving normal salt versus high salt diet.

In this study we analyzed how normal salt versus high salt diet influences experimental urinary tract infection in mice. Neutrophils play a major role in the control of this acute bacterial infection. In order to understand whether normal salt versus high salt diet systemically influences neutrophil phenotypes or functionality we isolated neutrophils from the bone marrow of mice receiving respective diets. Total RNA was used for 3'mRNA-Seq for explorative transcriptome analyses.
