Opposing actions of septins and Sticky on Anillin promote the transition from contractile to midbody ring

Shown is time-lapse imaging of Drosophila S2 cells expression Anillin-GFP (green) and mCherry-tubulin, following 4-day incubation with Shrub dsRNAs. Notice the mature midbody rings from previous divisions are still connecting the daughter cells. Nascent midbody rings from the current division are shedding Anillin-GFP. The cells were imaged with a 100x objective with 2x2 binning.
