NRS-21743 | Goodooga Water Supply rates receipt book

This volume recorded payments for water rates for Goodooga Water Supply between July 1915 and January 1921. It was kept by the Department of Public Works District Office at Bourke.The volume is in the form of a cash book, labelled as 'Cash Book. Miscellaneous Receipts. Department of Public Works'. It is divided into Cash: date; no. of receipt butt; particulars of receipt (from whom received; for what received); amount; and total; and Contra: date; particulars of disbursements; District Works Office's receipt number; amount, and total.Most payments recorded were from individuals and a few were from the post office, police station, public school, hospital, the hotel, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Resumed Properties Department. Only the first 21 folios have been completed.It is noted in the front of the volume that from 1921 a Trust was elected for the Goodooga Water Supply including Messrs. A. Cohen, D. Marks and DeLahunty. This appears to have been prior to works undertaken in 1921 for the Goodooga water supply scheme which included a service line from Goodooga Bore to the township of Goodooga.
