Precipitation-associated spatial reorganization of Holocene human activity

This archive contains data and code associated with the manuscript “Precipitation-associated spatial reorganization of Holocene human activity.” The DATA folder includes archaeological, climatic and environmental input datasets used in the study, including p3k14c radiocarbon data, reconstructed precipitation and temperature fields, precipitation-minus-evaporation data, virtual lake-level output, global topographic data and river-network data. The CODE folder contains scripts for the precipitation data-assimilation workflow, EOF1/PC1 analysis and Fig. 1 plotting, and reduced-forcing diffusion experiments and Fig. 5 plotting. These scripts document the computational workflow used to generate key results in the manuscript. Local file paths may need to be modified before running the code. This archive supports reproducibility of the main analyses linking Holocene human-activity reorganization with hydroclimatic variability and precipitation-modulated spatial processes.
