Methodology: For a population of 10,000 with an estimated infection rate of 10%, using a sample size of 30 plants provides a 95% probability of detection. The monitoring focuses on cassava crops older than seven months, specifically selecting one hectare with well-formed storage roots. Within the hectare, two transects of 15 plants each are chosen, totaling 30 plants per hectare. To inspect the roots, soil is carefully removed using a machete until a good storage root is exposed. The root is then cleaned gently with a clothes brush, and if necessary, washed with water using a 6-liter sprayer. Once the skin of the root is clearly visible, a photo is taken following specific guidelines: location services and camera location tags must be enabled, flash is turned off, AI focus and lighting correction are activated, and image size is set to a maximum of 1 MB. The photo should be taken approximately 15 cm away from the root to ensure clear visibility of potential frogskin disease symptoms.
