Rhizosphere bacteria associated with 2 wheat cultivars under warming from two base climate scenarios. Climate warming deepens wheat roots systems and changes rhizosphere bacteria

We grew two cultivars of wheat in controlled environments mimicking conditions in India or Germany. Further treatments increased soil and air temperature by 5oC from the base climate conditions. We harvested plants either at the one or two leaf stage, and in addition to plant measurements, analysed the bacterial community composition in the soil, loosely bound to the roots and tightly bound to roots. We analysed communities from the top 5 cm pf soil separately to the rest of the root system.
