The British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC), as a World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) Data Assembly Center (DAC), has responsibility for assembling, quality controlling and disseminating the comprehensive sea level data set for WOCE. It began its activities in early 1991 and collates data from approximately 160 tide gauge sites worldwide. Over 2000 site years of data are available.
In addition to the tidal height data, tidal harmonic constants, confidence limits and power spectra have been produced from the WOCE sea level data.
The WOCE sea level data from BODC is offered in 'delayed-mode'. This work is complemented by the operation of a 'fast-delivery' Sea Level DAC at the University of Hawaii Sea Level Center.
