The manzanita leaf-gall aphid, Tamalia coweni, is a widespread species native to North America where it engineers conspicuous red galls on manzanita (Arctostaphylos spp). By depending on rare, endemic, and fire prone host plants across California ecoregions, this aphid provides insight into how host plant, climate, and disturbance gradients shape its genome and mediate development of the plant phenotype.. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
