Human gut microbiota raw sequence reads from resistant starch intervention project in patients with NAFLD

The addition of resistant starch (RS) to the diet has been proven to ameliorate the condition of patients with NAFLD related diseases such as prediabetes and obesity, but until now, no clinical studies have been focused on NAFLD subjects. In this study, we performed a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded clinical trial of resistant starch in NAFLD patients. By integrating targeted metabolomic profiling and shotgun metagenomic sequencing, we characterised the molecular changes of host and gut microbiota metabolic products upon 16-week RS intervention, as well as the variation of patients gut microbiota structure and function.
