Chemically, Isothiazolinone is a five-membered heteroaromatic hydrocarbon that is believed to be derived from thiophene, where the second position is occupied by a nitrogen atom. The importance of isothiazolone and their derivatives has been growing over the past few years. Organic compounds containing five-membered sulfur and nitrogen heterocycles play an important role in many industrial fields. Isothiazolone and isothiazolone derivatives have useful biological properties such as antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities and hence have been used in different fields. Isothiazolone are organic compounds containing a five-membered thioazepine ring with various substitution patterns and functional groups attached to the core isothiazolone structure. They are known for their wide range of biological activities as fungicides in different industrial sectors and as active agents in many pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, which has led to a steady increase in the number of related patent applications. In addition to being potent fungicides, isothiazolone have been investigated as anticancer agents as they have been shown to disrupt key cellular processes involved in cancer progression. Through a targeting mechanism, isothiazolone have the potential to induce apoptosis and inhibit tumor growth, making them of considerable interest in cancer research. Various isothiazolone derivatives were tested on different cancer cell lines, including promyelocytic leukemia cells (HL-60), Hodgkin's lymphoma cells (L428), human lung cancer cells (A549), hepatocellular carcinoma cells (Hep-G2), colorectal carcinoma cells (HCT-116), and breast cancer cells (MCF-7), and the results showed that these compounds exhibited significant cytotoxicity, antitumor efficacy, necrosis induction, and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, isothiazolone have been described as protease inhibitors, aldose reductase inhibitors and 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor antagonists for the treatment of anxiety and depression.In order to integrate the data resources and results of the research on isothiazolinone in medicine and to promote the related research, literature review and information extraction and analysis were carried out, so as to construct a target database of isothiazolinone, which serves as an auxiliary tool to screen numerous isothiazolinone and converge their core information, including the systematic target analysis, activity analysis, and mechanism study, etc., and Thus, it provides a research basis for the development of antitumor drugs, reduces the cost of developing tumor drugs, and improves the survival rate of tumor patients. To a certain extent, this database can promote the innovation and development of new drugs, help improve the efficiency of R&D, reduce the cost of procurement and testing, and thus realize sustainable research.
