Inglewood Texas Community Advancing Feral Pig Control with Technology

This project will coordinate a feral pig control program across the Inglewood/Texas district that will target hot spot areas and remove 2,200 pigs from the landscape. At least 75 local landholders will be involved in the program which will include trapping, baiting and shooting. Feral pig traps equipped with the Faraway Trapping System and aerial surveillance and shooting will be used to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of control. The project will reduce the impact of feral pigs on soil, vegetation and water resources; improve local productivity; and increase community participation in natural resource management. The trapping system will be promoted, including through field days and local media.
