Comparison of SNP profiles of the Patagonain Sheepdog with European breeds confirms Scottish origin and position basal to modern herding breeds. Overall design: DNA was collected from working Patagonian sheepdogs. SNPs were genotyed using the Illumina CanineHD SNP chip. These data were combined with previously published SNP genotypes and analyzed using distance measures, haplotype sharing, and admixture analyses.
