Scytonema sp. UIC 10036 Genome sequencing and assembly

Cultured cyanobacteria produce secondary metabolites with a wide range of biological activities and are an important source of natural products. Scytonema sp. UIC 10036 was found to produce scytophycin C and tolytoxin. To further explore the chemical potential of UIC 10036, the effect of nitrate and phosphate on its production of biomass and secondary metabolites was tested. Untargeted comparative metabolomics was applied to assess the influence of these media components on its metabolomic profile.
