This dataset contains eight anatomical traits data for six dominant shrub species, along with corresponding environmental variables (soil properties and climatic factors). All trait measurements were performed on the captured micrographs using the ImageJ software (National Institutes of Health, NIH, U.S.). Climatic, water and aridity data were retrieved from the WorldClim database (https://worldclim.org) at a spatial resolution of 2.5 arcminutes, while soil nutrient data were acquired from the SoilGrids database (https://soilgrids.org/) with a spatial resolution of 250 m.The data supports research on plant functional traits, adaptation strategies to arid environments, and soil-plant-atmosphere interactions.
