Giuseppe Maria Galanti has oriented its commitment to the reforms, 'rediscovering' the teaching of Genovese and echoing the most advanced Illuminist sensitivity (Filangieri, Pagano). He tied his law and intellectual activity to the theme of the provinces, pursued through a rationalization of the administration of justice, inspired by a criterion of greater decentralization. Distant, for his sensitivity, by the revolutionary experience, in the early nineties, he tried to save the reasons of the reforms. In the Testamento Forense he recalled his approach to law, leaving an interesting portrait of the gowned world in Naples, without significant contributions to the legal thought and to the political and institutional debate, defending instead the nobility of a season of attempts (and not only of hopes).
