Charting Kasos' Legacy: Oral History, AI, and the Digital Museum Initiative

This project documents, preserves, and reinterprets the maritime and cultural heritage of Kasos through oral history, archival research, and artificial intelligence. It brings together over 100 hours of oral testimonies, historical documents from the Ottoman and Italian periods, and extensive photographic collections, transforming fragmented memory into a structured, searchable, and interactive digital environment. The project aims to develop a digital museum that enables users to explore genealogies, migration routes, and community narratives through immersive and participatory tools. By combining ethnographic methodology with AI-driven analysis, the initiative contributes to the field of Digital Humanities and proposes a replicable model for community-based digital heritage preservation.
