To unravel the regulatory network involved in CuB metabolism in melon fruit in response to CPPU, we conducted transcriptome sequencing at four developmental and ripening stages of both CPPU-treated and control fruit. Employing weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) on the transcriptome data, we identified a subset of crucial transcription factors that implicate the CPPU signal in regulating the CuB accumulation pathway.Furthermore, we performed transcriptome analyses on melon fruits treated with CPPU at 3 DAA in introgression lines (ILs) comprising Cmbr mutants and wild type plants. This analysis enabled us to identify the target genes regulated by CPPU-induced CmBr that contribute to CuB accumulation in melon fruits.
