Modeling the Progression of Placental Transport from Early‐ to Late‐Stage Pregnancy by Tuning Trophoblast Differentiation and Vascularization

The aim of this work was to compare the syncytiotrophoblast differentiation capacity of placental stem cells (PSCs) to the BeWo b30 trophoblast cell line. Syncytiotrophoblast markers were analyzed, as well as drug, hormone and nutrient transporters. 3 groups were studied: a control group consisting of undifferentiated placental stem cells, differentiated placental stem cells and differentiated BeWo b30 cells. Each group contained N=5 samples.
