Scalesia gordilloi genome sequencing with ORG.one

Scalesia gordilloi is a critically endangered plant species endemic to the Galapagos Islands, known for its unique role in the island's ecosystems. Despite its importance, there is currently no reference genome available for Scalesia gordilloi, limiting conservation efforts. The goal of this project, supported by the ORG.one initiative, is to sequence and assemble the complete genome of Scalesia gordilloi. By providing this genomic resource, we aim to enhance conservation strategies and contribute to the preservation of this vital species in its natural habitat.
