The protective autophagy-mediated HCC radioresistance is one of the limitations of the radiotherapeutic effect. Herein, we discovered that ionizing radiation (IR) mediated upregulation of Integrin beta6 stabilizes Annexin A2 which induced autophagy-mediated cell protection in HCC. We further demonstrated the novel role of the IR-induced ITGB6/ANXA2 axis as a critical driver of tumor progression and radioresistance in HCC.
