Transcriptome variation and architecture across a large Saccharomyces cerevisiae population. RNA sequencing data from 1,048 samples across a large collection of Saccharomyces cerevisiae natural isolates

The aim of the project was to obtain a comprehensive view of the transcriptional landscape as well as the genetic effects on gene expression variation at a species-wide level. With the generation of RNA sequencing data from more than 1,000 natural isolates, this study was able to characterize the details underlying many aspects of gene expression at a population level and provides a resource to better understand how genetic variants affect gene regulation.
