We compared the differences of gut microbiota between male and female patients with ESRD caused by IgA nephropathy (ESRD-IgAN), ESRD caused by type-2 diabetes mellitus (ESRD-T2DM), and healthy controls (HC) using high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA gene, and analyzed their relationship with clinical immune indicators. Eight, ten, five, seven, 11, and 20 volunteers were assigned to female HC, ESRD-IgAN, and ESRD-T2DM, and male HC, ESRD-IgAN, and ESRD-T2DM, respectively.
