Collaborative Governance for Regional NRM Plan investments

NQ Dry Tropics is the custodian organisation for a Community Owned Regional NRM Plan for
the Burdekin Region. It provides a hub for a diversity of interests in NRM planning and delivery.
This project provides the opportunity for direct involvement of NRM investors, beneficiaries and
those generating a need or demand for NRM work. It employs a continuous forum approach
that will provide strategic direction, negotiation and alignment of interests towards broader
guidance and more specific uptake of NRM delivery. This sub-project will address the need for
diversity of representation and inclusiveness by increasing participation from indigenous
people, woman, young people and culturally/linguistically diverse people. They will be integral
to multi-stakeholder governance for regional NRM delivery. In doing so, it will also create a
collective understanding of principles related to good governance including effective
participation, respect for diversity, equity, transparency, accountability, and subsidiarity.
