This dataset covers future air pollutant emission data for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Qinghai Province and Tibet Autonomous Region) and six neighboring countries: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar, under different socioeconomic scenarios (SSPs). The covered air pollutants include black carbon (BC), organic carbon (OC), fine particulate matter (PM2.5), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
There are certain deviations in the baseline data of existing SSPs scenario simulations for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its adjacent regions. This dataset establishes a more accurate future emission dataset based on a more precise air pollutant emission inventory and the SSPs scenario framework.
The emission data is classified into 6 sectors, with a higher spatial resolution (0.1° × 0.1°) compared to standard SSPs datasets.
This dataset can better support simulations of environmental, health, and climatic impacts of air pollutants over the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region.
