Early-life exposure to genistein alters glucocorticoid signaling in the adult mouse uterus.

Female mice treated on post-natal day 1-5 with corn-oil control or 50 mg/kg genistein were evaluated as adults for the uterine response to 1 mg/kg nM dexamethasone (or saline vehicle). Adult mice were adrenalectomized and ovariectomized 2 weeks prior to dexamethasone (or vehicle) treatment. Mice treated post-natal day 1-5 with 20ul corn-oil or 50 mg/kg genistein dissolved in corn-oil. Adults underwent adrenalectomy and ovariectomy at 6 weeks of age. At 8 weeks of age, mice received 100ul saline (vehicle) or 1 mg/kg dexamethasone dissolved in saline and tissues were harvested after 4hr.
