Single-nucleus RNA-sequencing of testis and ovary from Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila simulans

This study investigates transcriptional divergence between closely related Drosophila species at single-cell resolution. We performed single-nucleus RNA-sequencing using the Parse Biosciences platform (Evercode Whole Transcriptome; v2 chemistry) on gonadal tissues, testis and ovary, from two strains of Drosophila melanogaster (A4 and ISO1) and one strain of Drosophila simulans (w501). The dataset comprises raw FASTQ files for each biological replicate across all tissue-strain combinations, enabling comparative analysis of gene expression programs across species, strains, and cell types.
