Raman spectra of carbonaceous material from the Nama Group, southern Namibia
收藏资源简介:
Raman spectra of carbonaceous material (RSCM) from 10 carbonaceous pelite and shale samples of the Nama Group, southern Namibia, taken from borehole cores of the GRIND-ECT project (ICDP). The dataset contains the 20 spectra and four-band fits used to estimate the peak temperature of the succession in the study “Slow cooling and the geomagnetic polarity history link protracted thermoviscous remagnetization to superchrons” (submitted to Geophysical Journal International). Spectra were acquired with a Renishaw inVia micro-Raman spectrometer (532 nm laser, 2400 lines mm⁻¹ grating, 1000–3500 cm⁻¹, 10 s exposure, 5 accumulations) at the Brazilian Astrobiology Research Unit (NAP/Astrobio), University of São Paulo. The first-order region was fitted with four bands (D1, D3, G and D2), and peak temperatures were computed with the calibration of Rahl et al. (2005). The archive contains the spectra as ASCII (.txt) and native Renishaw WiRE (.wdf) files, the table of band fits, ratios and temperatures (Table S4 of the associated study), a table of correspondence with the original acquisition file names, and a README with the acquisition conditions, fitting protocol and column definitions. The palaeomagnetic data from the same succession are archived at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13974746.
