The core indicator is EMP_TEMP_SEX_OCU_GEO_NB, which represents employment by sex, occupation, and rural/urban areas (in thousands). The data is sourced from the International Labour Organization (ILO) ILOSTAT database, retrieved via the REST API and filtered to European country codes. The dataset includes multiple dimension columns such as country code (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3), country name, source code and label, indicator code and label, sex disaggregation (total, male, female), occupation classification (skill level), rural/urban classification (national level), year, observed value (unit varies by indicator definition), observation status flag (e.g., provisional, unreliable), and related notes. The data is annual frequency, with ILO selecting the best source when multiple sources exist for the same country-year combination. This dataset is suitable for tabular classification, regression, and time-series forecasting tasks, enabling analysis of employment trends, gender disparities, occupational distribution, and rural/urban employment patterns across Europe. It has been repackaged by Electric Sheep Europe in Parquet format for machine learning readiness.
