LiDAR survey on 579.66 hectares in Tapajós, Belterra, Pará, Brasil in 2008.

The LiDAR data Floresta Nacional de Tapajos (TAP_A04_2008_LIDAR) refers to initial airborne survey carried out in 2008 at Tapajós National Forest, Pará state, Brazil, funded by grants from NASA (#NNX09AI33G to M. Lefsky et al.) and NSF (#0721140 to S. Saleska, G.G. Parker, Y. Shimabukuro et al.). The TAP_A04_2008 survey area is a selectively logged site that encompasses the km83 LBA eddy flux tower which was used for monitoring the effects of selective logging on carbon balance of the forest (Miller et al., 2011). These data have been incorporated into the broader integrated effort of Sustainable Landscapes, a project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and US Department of State. The United States Forest Service working in collaboration with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) have made possible the provision of high accuracy LiDAR data aiming at developing new methods and generating knowledge in the field. This dataset contains: a. Classified LAS formatted point cloud data – compressed LAS files: LAZ format (vendor delivered); b. Digital Terrain Model (vendor delivered); c.
