Hydrolyzed Protein Formula Improves the Nutritional Tolerance and Intestinal Development, and Alters Caecal Microbiota in Low-birth-weight Piglets

Prematurity or LBW (LBW), as a global public health problem, is also a major concern in human medicine and animal production. Exploring reasonable and effective nutritional interventions are crucial for the growth and development of LBW infants. Hydrolyzed protein formula has been proposed to prevent intestinal dysfunction and is more suitable fordigestion and absorption in infants. This study aimed to investigate the advantages of deeply HF in feeding intolerance, intestinal morphological development and microbiota of LBW piglets.
