A Multicentre Questionnaire-Based Knowledge, Attitude, Practice Study On "Green ICU" Amongst Intensivists And ICU Nurses In India

Intensive care units (ICUs) contribute to about 5% of healthcare greenhouse gas emissions globally. With the United Nations setting a target of achieving global net-zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2050, understanding sustainability practices is important. In this context, the concept of the Green ICU (GREater ENvironmental sustainability in Intensive Care Units) is gaining prominence since healthcare, especially intensive care, contributes to a large proportion of greenhouse gases. Indian data on environmentally sustainable practices remains scarce. This study uses the Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) model to understand Green ICU concepts among Indian ICU healthcare workers.
