Global ISEA3H Discrete Global Grid System (DGGS) at 1-km Resolution

The Global ISEA3H 1-km Hexagonal Grid Dataset provides a global high-resolution hexagonal spatial framework based on the Icosahedral Snyder Equal Area Aperture 3 Hexagonal Grid (ISEA3H), a Discrete Global Grid System (DGGS). The dataset contains approximately 1-km resolution hexagonal cells covering terrestrial regions worldwide. The grid was generated using the dggridR R package and organized into country-based spatial units for efficient storage and analysis. Country boundaries were derived from the Natural Earth Admin 0 Countries dataset. This dataset provides a standardized equal-area spatial framework for biodiversity assessment, conservation planning, environmental modelling, and Earth system analyses.
