Proteome database of Pyrococcus horikoshii strain ATCC 700860

Pyrococcus horikoshii is a hyperthermophilic, anaerobic archaeon first isolated in a hydrothermal vent deep in the ocean. Equipped with a tuft of flagella, the archaeon is motile, and is an obligate heterotroph. This work presents the proteome database of P. horikoshii strain ATCC 700860 by parsing its annotated proteome downloaded from UniProt. Comprising protein name, amino acid sequence, number of residues, molecular weight, and nucleotide sequence of each protein in the proteome of the archaeon, the resource should find use in probing the fundamental mysteries of this microbe such as its metabolism, and ability to adapt to high temperature and high pressure environment.
