After the removal of the low-quality sequences, chimaeras, non-target taxa (plants, Chromista, Protista, Protozoa, and Metazoa), and rare sequence types, we retained 1,305,772 sequences that following normalization were grouped in 855 operational taxonomic units (OTUs).
