The Open-Insect-BCI dataset is curated to provide a maximally realistic test case for open-set recognition of novel species in biodiversity monitoring in the Barro Colorado Island (BCI) region. It consists of 197 recently collected images from BCI, covering 133 species, 59 of which may be undescribed by science. This dataset is part of the Open-Insect dataset and is used for open-set recognition testing.
