This dataset includes heavy metal data found in the roots and leaves of 2 wetland plant species, Carex acutiformis and Carex pendula, taken from 4 different locations of the wetland system installed in Gallions Lake, Thamesmead, UK. Sample locations 1 and 4 were taken from the surrounding revetments of the wetland which were built using silt dredged from the lake, whereas locations 2 and 3 were samples taken from the two floating treatment islands in the middle of cells 2 and 3 of the wetland. These samples were collected at the same time as the 2025 water samples, on 6 monthly occasions from March-August. Each sample of roots and leaves from each species was divided into 3 repeats which were analysed at Queen Mary University geography laboratory for heavy metals. This dataset also includes the translocation factor and the bioconcentration factor of different samples.
